During this French user live session, our User Engagement Manager, Joseph Tuyishimire, will explore the capability of defining an area of interest using vector files, in addition to the traditional point & buffer method. Using real-world examples, he will demonstrate how this can be used in practice.

The annual commemoration of the creation of the Organisation of African Unity, formerly known as African Freedom Day and African Liberation Day, is held on May 25 every year. It is a day for Africans and those who love Africa to promote African unity and showcase the continent.
Global Forest Observations Initiatives (GFOI)
About The Event
The annual GFOI Plenary brings together the global community of practitioners who support tropical countries in forest monitoring and associated emissions Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) procedures. The Plenary aims to share information and ideas, review progress and identify new opportunities for helping countries to improve their forest monitoring capabilities to enable better forest management and ultimately the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Chapman on Climate and Health in Africa
About The Event
The overarching goal of the conference is to take advantage of advances in weather and climate forecasting and in climate-informed disease modeling, early warning, and predictions to enable decision support services in human health.
The objectives are to:
- Review the state of the knowledge of the influence of climate on infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases, especially heat related illnesses;
- Stimulate discussion between researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to advance climate-based health early warning; (3) to work collaboratively with program managers and decision makers on identifying best approaches to enable the use of climate information to reduce disease risk and benefit the public health.
International Dialogue on Climate-Smart Rangeland Management
About The Event
With a theme entitled Sustainable Use of Rangeland Resources for Improved Livelihoods in the era of climate change, the International Dialogue on Climate-Smart Rangeland Management Conference aims to:
- Create an interactive global forum for stakeholders including departments, local and international organizations to share experiences, best practices and lessons learned in building fibre industry resilience to climate shocks.
- Serve as a platform to advance technical and practical measures towards reversing land degradation and their effective implementation.
- Facilitate the interaction between government departments and potential development partners to enhance access to financing for supporting climate-smart rangeland management.
- Enhance awareness of rangeland rehabilitation efforts by different organizations in Lesotho in order to foster collaboration, avoid duplication and increase impacts.
