National Space Conference 2023
About The Event
The National Space Conference 2023 will take place at CSIR International Convention Centre in Tshwane, Gauteng, South Africa and aims to advance knowledge and information about space and Earth observation applications, operations, products, and services, as well as how to use them for better decision-making and advancement of society, economy and the protection of the environment.
The Theme of this year's conference is: Space for inclusive GROWTH
Key Objectives:
- The NSC gives SA stakeholders (such as researchers, academics, public servants, business, data suppliers, consultants, and NGOs) a forum and opportunity to interact, share ideas and information, and spark discussions about how to work together most effectively to create a sustainable space ecosystem, programs, and initiatives for national growth and development.
- It offers an engaging schedule that includes keynote talks, panel discussions, showcasing, and technical sessions based on selected daily themes and sub themes. Presentations of both a scientific, policy, and a technical nature are encouraged.
- It also offers a chance of networking and showcasing, a space science and technology exhibition, and events for youth participation that are designed to promote equality, diversity, inclusion and access (EDIA).
Digital Earth Africa (DE Africa) was honoured to participate at the Regional Centre for Mapping for Resources for Development (RCMRD) International Conference (RIC2023) from 8-10 August 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya. Attracting over 1200 participants from government, academia, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and media, the theme for this year’s conference was "NEXT LEVEL: Space to Community".

7th biennial Advances in Geomatics Research Conference (AGRC 2023)
About The Event
The Advances in Geomatics Research Conference aims to promote and encourage scholarship in various Geomatics sub-disciplines, providing an affordable forum for academia, researchers, and practitioners in Uganda and the region to discuss and advance Geomatics Scholarship.
Theme: GEOMATICS EXCELLENCE FOR A MODERN SOCIETY-SUSTAINABLE FIT FOR PURPOSE SOLUTIONS FOR THE 21st CENTURY
The Department of Geomatics and Land Management - Makerere University, Kampala has organised the biennial Advances in Geomatics Research Conference (AGRC) since 2011. The purpose of the conference is to highlight, promote and encourage scholarship in the various Geomatics sub-disciplines e.g., Location-based services, Engineering Surveying, GIS, Remote Sensing, Land Management, integrated spatial planning, etc taking place locally, regionally and internationally. Through the AGRC the academia, researchers and practitioners in the geomatics field in Uganda and the region have been accorded an affordable forum to discuss their work, peer review other researchers work and advance Geomatics Scholarship in the region.
This year's conference will have a public dialogue on The National Land Policy. It will also have pre-conference workshops covering advances in the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and an Introduction to Laser Scanning and UAV Mapping.
